Detailed description of the CannabiGold Balance oil
Before we go into more detail about the product itself, we wanted to talk about what CannabiGold is and who's behind it.
So...who is CannabiGold?
The CannabiGold CBD oil, also known as hemp extract, is produced by the Polish company 'HemPoland', the original owner of the CannabiGold brand.
HemPoland was the first company in Poland to acquire a licence to grow hemp plants and manufacture hemp products.
HemPoland presents as having a clear focus on the highest quality natural CBD. This is reflected in their slogan 'Pure quality, pure nature'. They take pride in the fact they do not use pesticides, plant protection products or artificial fertilisers
Only natural hemp is processed, which is free of any additives. In addition to this, only the Cannabis sativa L plant is used, which is an industrial hemp certified by the EU.
HemPoland guarantees that each CannabiGold oil contains the active ingredient CBD, which, in case of doubt, can also be confirmed by laboratory tests, if requested.
In 2018, CannabiGold was bought by Canadian cannabis producer 'The Green Organic Dutchman’. Although you wouldn't know this from viewing either the CannabiGold or the HemPoland websites.
The CannabiGold CBD oils are produced using supercritical CO2 extraction. The CannabiGold products contains the natural spectrum of the cannabis plant, but also many other natural substances, such as terpenes or flavonoids.
Which ingredients are contained in the CannabiGold Balance?
The 12ml CannabiGold Balance Oil contains a variety of phytocannabinoids. It is a full-spectrum oil that, in addition to CBD and CBDA, should also contain CBC, CBG, CBDV and BCP.
The THC content is below the permitted 0.2%. In addition to the active ingredients of the cannabis plant, valuable substances such as terpenes and flavonoids were also obtained during the extraction. It is worth noting here that the new CannabiGold Terpenes+ range claim to now contain zero THC. If this is a requirement for you, this may be an option.
As a result, the active ingredients can mutually reinforce each other and promote an entourage effect.
Having said that, some research does suggest that CBDA is actually more effective than CBD due to its relationship with the 5-HT receptors. It is suggested that the body is able to process CBDA more efficiently, thus not only allowing the cannabinoid to have a more significant effect, but to get into the body more quickly. The study in question looked at the reduction of nausea and vomiting in rats and shrews and found that the effects of CBDA were significantly greater at inhibiting vomiting than CBD.
It worth considering then, what it is you want from the product. And whether or not you require a higher concentration of CBD over another cannabinoid.
The CannabiGold Balance oil is delivered in this packaging
We found the packaging in which the CannabiGold Balance oil was delivered both interesting and aesthetically pleasing. This sets it apart from some of the other CBD oils that we have already tested.
The CannabiGold Balance CBD oil does not come in the classic bottle with an integrated pipette. Instead of a pipette, there is a pump cap.
It looks a bit nicer, but it's not overly practical for sublingual intake. Although online information describes it as 'handy' and 'innovative', we found the traditionally used dropper/pipette much easier to squeeze than the pump cap.
Where can you buy the CBD oil?
You cannot buy CannabiGold Balance oil on the manufacturer's website. And strangely, the website does not mention CannabiGold Balance or Intense.
The CannabiGold website has a focus on a CBD skincare range, which they do sell via their website. And in addition to this they also sell CannabiGold Terpenes+, they describe this as " a unique combination of top-quality gold hemp seed oil, pure CBD and a precise composition of terpenes selected by our scientists to facilitate the effects of CBD". They offer 4 options, 250mg, 500mg, 1000mg and 1500mg. This is said to have replaced the CannabiGold Classic, which is no longer in production.
If you want to buy the CannabiGold Balance CBD oil, you can only do so from stockists who are linked to the manufacturer's website. For example 'My CBD' or 'GoldCBD'. But it is also available on other platforms.
We also bought the CBD oil anonymously for our test via a third party. This was to ensure we recieved a genuine idea of the customer service offered.
If you have any questions, you have to contact the respective dealer, rather than CannabiGold itself. Therefore delivery costs and delivery times inevitably vary.
The rounded packaging does looks quite high-quality. On it you can find some details and information about the CBD oil from CannabiGold. We really liked the white and gold design. The box does make a rather noble and luxurious impression .
Our experiences with the CannabiGold Balance CBD oil
To give you all the information you need to decide which CBD product is best for you, we tested the CannabiGold Balance CBD oil. And to give you the most reliable information possible, three different people tested the CBD oil.
It's our goal to find the best CBD oils for you. It is important to remember that everyone reacts to CBD differently, and that our experiences of the oil may not be same as yours.
Every human organism is different and can therefore perceive the effects of CBD oil differently.
Colour of the oil
The colour of the CannabiGold oil is quite strong and a mixture of golden-brown. It is somewhat reminiscent of a cloudy amber.
The colour is a result of the extraction process, some degradation and oxidation are prevented and therefore effective plant components are retained in the oil. The manufacturer recommends shaking the oil vigorously before use.
Taste and consistency
Such a strong taste can be a major disadvantage for some people. We would recommend a different, milder oil to people who are sensitive to taste.
Interestingly, the website does states that CannabiGold Terpenes+ has a mild taste. So they may well have improved the taste. We cannot guarantee this of course, until we've tried the product - watch this space!
CannabiGold Balance 1,000 - how do I dose the oil?
There is no uniform dosage that can be used universally for every need. Every human organism is simply too different for that.
As well as physical factors such as constitution, height and body weight, the reason for using CBD oil can also play a decisive role in the correct dosage.
Because of this, some people may feel more effects when taking CBD, some less, and some may feel nothing at all.
It is the same with potential side effects. With CBD these are basically minor and harmless: nausea, tiredness, lethargy, dizziness, dry mouth, etc.
Therefore, it is recommended to start the dosing intake slowly and work your way up, finding the optimal dosage for you. Many people miss this point because they take more drops from the start than are actually necessary.
There are no specific instructions on when to take CBD. However, if you take CBD for sleep disorders, for example, it is recommended to take the oil before going to bed.
The manufacturer recommends...
The manufacturer recommends taking one drop twice a day. The oil should not be stored in direct sunlight and should be kept out of reach of small children. Sublingual intake is recommended .
To do this, simply put the drops under your tongue, hold for approximately 60 seconds, then swallow. The CBD is absorbed very quickly through the oral mucosa and should take effect within minutes.
Effects and side effects
People use CBD for a wide variety of complaints such as: pain, arthritis, anxiety and insomnia - to name a few. Interestingly, one online product review stated the user had experienced 'crazy' dreams. That it had enhanced both the dreams and dream recollection.
But in some cases, CBD oils are taken as a food supplement for general well-being. One of our testers fits this scenario.
This tester became aware of CBD through Instagram, and knew nothing of the potential effects beforehand.
Our tester advised she felt a little more relaxed, but couldn't be certain whether or not this was a placebo effect.
She did not enjoy the intense taste of CannabiGold Balance oil and would've preferred a milder oil. As stated above, CannabiGold may have improved the taste in their new product CannabiGold Terpenes+
She also relayed she would be keen to try the CBD in a different format... at the time of the testing, CannabiGold did not offer cosmetic products. However, they now offer what looks to be a significant range of skin products. CannabiGold also offer CBD capsules. Like the Balance and the Intense options, they are not available via the CannabiGold website.
CBD before a lecture
Our other two testers had overall good experiences with the CBD oil. It is worth mentioning that the oil calmed one of our testers down a little before a lecture and he relayed he was able to concentrate better.
It is believed that cannabidiol (CBD) through its interaction with receptors in the nervous system, can inhibit certain messenger substances and thus also reduce anxiety or stress.
We have not had any experience of side effects. Incidentally, the WHO rates the safety profile of CBD as good. In particular, the active ingredients do not get you high and do not lead to physical dependence.
Are we getting value for money?
With a price of approx £48.99, the CannabiGold Balance oil is just as expensive as other products. One potential point of criticism, however, is that the oil doesn't contain as much pure CBD as other products at this price. As mentioned earlier on in the article, it also contains CBDA. This may or may not be beneficial for you, depending on what you want.
How strong the effect really is, is difficult to say. The experience cannot always be transferred from one person to another. But it serves as a good starting point to get better information before buying.
In relation to value for money, if you are looking for 1000mg of CBD we would describe as this as average. At this price you can buy an oil with a higher CBD content from other suppliers. However, if you are happy with a mix of CBD and CBDA, then the value for money does increase.
CBD oil from CannabiGold - our conclusion
Behind CannabiGold there is a company with a lot of experience who attaches great importance to expertise. Their passion for natural growing techniques is admirable and they do process the hemp plants themselves. Nevertheless, overall the CBD oil could not fully convince us.
This was primarily due to the taste and the value for money, but also due to non-existent customer service, given that the products are sold via stockists.
We really liked the entire branding and design of the bottle and packaging. But of course, this only plays a subordinate role when buying a CBD oil.
There has been noticeable differences in this company. On the surface it would appear that they have taken on board feedback in relation to the taste. There is potentially a new CannibiGold product which offers a milder taste. In addition to this, they now offer a skincare range.
